About Blackheath Embroiderers

 Blackheath Embroiderers is an independent textile and embroidery group affiliated to the Embroiderers Guild UK.

We meet on the last Saturday afternoon of each month. Each month one of our more experienced members or a visiting tutor will lead us through a hands-on workshop exploring a different textile or embroidery theme.  Our group is made up of people with a wide variety of experience and everyone is generous in sharing knowledge and skills.  

Our membership season runs from September to August. New members and visitors are always welcome.

What a brilliant day in Sunny Blackheath making textile vessels with textile artist, Janice Botterill @slowquietwork as our VIP tutor! Less than a week to go to our Bowls & Bud Vase workshop! All day workshop special 🪡 This gorgeous piece of stitchery is by Simone - one of our members. Julia S finished her coiled textile bowl inspired by the decorative ceramics in the British Museum. Following a group visit to the @britishmuseum we got started on our individual stitch projects yesterday. The goal is to do something manageable, avoiding UFOs* We have been working on our Arpillera appliqué pieces following last months workshopwith@embroiderboydave .. more updates to come soon.
